How to get good vision and health for your Eyes with Tratak exercise

Tratak is Sanskrit word which means to look or to gaze continuously. It’s been practicing in India from long back it is a part of hata yoga

To attain good vision, to get control over mind and body and to away from eye diseases one need to practice Tratak it is a very powerful method to overcome above mentioned some problems and also some other will discuss further

There are many varieties in the method such as

  • Focusing on lamp or candle
  • Focusing on a dark dot
  • Focusing on a picture or idol etc.

And some saint suggest tratak can be of inner middle or outer it’s a very big chapter let’s focus on only one the above-mentioned methods are of middle tratak

 

Let’s see how to practice tratak with lamp or candle

Requirements: lamp (that could be candle or oil lamp), lamp stand, match box, yoga mat or any mat

Before starting one need to take care of these things

  • Better to fresh off before starting process
  • Take one glass full of water
  • Start the process better in clean room and keep in mind the room should be silent
  • Arrange the lamp stand to your eye height and better towards wall not in center of room, the eye sight and floor should be parallel
  • Then put yoga mat in front of lampstand around one meter away from the lamp
  • Lighten candle or oil lamp
  • Close all door and lamp those should not disturb the flame
  • And sit in front of lamp with sukhasana (normal sitting) make sure your backbone neck should be straight
  • Those suffering from tuberculosis, heart diseases, leprosy and major eye diseases should not practice tratak.

Once you are ready, close your eyes and once forget about the world and make ready your mind and eyes for the process with dedication concentration and patience

Slowly open your eyes start focusing on the tip of the lamp continuously

If you are beginner within one minute your eyes will try to blink but don’t blink stare with high concentration after three-four minutes water will start coming from the eyes then also don’t blink because of  u are beginner stop the process for six to seven minutes then close your eyes then you will get the same lamp image in front of you then start seeing it. it’s called inner Tratak for two minutes then rub your palms touch the warm palms to your eyes slowly open eyes see from bottom to top

If your eyes are too burning then close eyes for a while and start once again better the process do at morning times its more effect full after ten-fifteen days go for 10 minutes don’t go for a long time more than 12 minutes

Please note

  • Tratak Could cause vision related troubles or headaches if done improperly with the lack of patience by forcing the sessions for a longer duration by giving stress to one’s eyes.
  • Not recommended for small kids.
  • You should not practice this meditation if you are not comfortable with it.
