Helicopter travel: You need to be very quick to book the helicopter tickets. when they released. Two companies will operate helicopter journey travel. On the day of release, all the tickets were sold with in few hours. We checked after few hours and all of them are sold out. But in case if we contact agent we are getting helicopter tickets for a higher price which was surprising :). During the difficult weather conditions (if sky is clear apart from landslides), helicopter travel darshan will happen. Even though you travel by Helicopter you need to travel around 5 KM again. Yatris has to cover this distance by using horse/dolly/walk
When we visited in 2018, Yatra was stopped because of land slides. during that time helicopter travel was going in normal way. If you book a slot online, please do not assume you are going to do darshan on the same day. Last time when we went there is a huge rush to get helicopter boarding pass itself. Once you get a boarding pass you will come to know when you will travel through helicopter. In your total Journey keep few additional days to accommodate unpredictable weather conditions. other wise you will loose your money.
We went to helicopter booking counter to check if we can get any tickets but we did not get any but on the way, we saw beautiful sceneries.
